Edwin Sims Krupp was born in Texas on June 15th 1922. His parents were Charlotte Elizabeth Sims Krupp and Dr. Peter C. Krupp. He had 2 brothers Peter jr. and John P. and a sister, Nancy. They were raised in Chicago where Dr. Krupp had a successful dental practice. The family spent many summers at the Sims ranch and he had a lifelong love of the place. They had 9 children together, three of his 5 sons also became pilots. He had several professions and ended up in real estate. Edwin was well known for his great sense of humor and was a wonderful story teller. He had many friends and would share his love of the outdoors by taking other couples to the ranch in the summer to enjoy fishing and hunting and horseback riding.

He and Katherine retired to Arizona in 1995. He loved the sun and was always tan. They spent a lot of their time with their son Bill and his wife Debra who lived nearby. They enjoyed frequent visitors and family gatherings and were very happy there. He passed away in February 2001 after a very brave battle with cancer surrounded by his whole family.
